The Importance of Proper Bed Selection

Choosing a bed that’s right for you and your disability requirements is an important and personal process. Beds for disabled adults need to offer the correct comfort and support where they need it. Adjustable beds help you to achieve a comfortable sleeping position via a motorised base. Different sections of the bed’s base can be raised or lowered to your preference. This means you can sit up in bed with your back supported, raise your legs, or both! Oak Tree’s adjustable double beds feature a 5-point adjustable base and can be operated via a simple remote control.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning Guidelines

Each of our beds is easy to clean with minimal maintenance. To keep your bed looking like new for longer, you may want to consider our Care and Protect Kit which includes three powerful solutions to freshen your fabric.

  • Regularly vacuum your new bed on a bi-weekly basis. This will help you to get rid of dust, debris or allergens that may have accumulated in the upholstery.
  • If a new spill or stain occurs on your bed, clean it immediately by blotting it with a clean cloth.
  • Rotate the mattress every 3-6 months to help prevent uneven wear and sagging.
  • Avoid putting your bed in direct sunlight as this can cause the fabric to fade over time.
  • Protect with a mattress protector. This will help your new mattress to stay in great condition for years to come.
  • Deep clean your bed every 6-12 months. Consider steam cleaning your upholstery, or wiping it down with a clean damp cloth.

Following these steps will help you to preserve your new adjustable bed’s appearance and extend its lifespan.
